Day 19

I found myself questioning my fanhood the other night.  I suppose that is why you should never take Harry Potter quizes after midnight.  It had started out innocently enough, trying to guess the 100 most common words in the English language.

That progressed quickly to identifying the states as quickly as possible.  Turns out Connecticut is the one people are most likely to forget.  It was also the last one I typed in, strangely enough.  I always end in New England with that sort of thing.  Thank goodness it wasn't state capitals, or I'd have been doomed.

And then I saw it.  Harry Potter Pets.  I would, of course, dominate this quiz.  There were some doozies, like trying to remember Ginny's Pygmy Puff's name (Arnold, by the way), which I wouldn't have gotten on a good day.  No, I would have been ok having missed that one.

I struggled with the Weasley family owl, but remembered Percy's owl off the top of my head, so those evened out.  I got Crookshanks, Fluffy, Norbert, and Hedwig, no problem.  No, the question that stumped me, and which made me check the expiration date on my Harry Potter fan club card (last year, as it turns out) (and yes, I am totally kidding about having a fan club card.), was the name of Neville's toad.  I'm a huge Neville fan, and I know that he has a Mibblus Mibbletonia, but for the life of me, I could not remember that toad's name.

That toad, that toad.  It consumed me. I couldn't go on, I couldn't remember the toad's name.  I won't lie.  I actually quit the quiz early, just so I could find out the name of that silly old toad.  I was quite the blow, and now I've lost all of my Harry Potter street cred.  I guess I'll just have to find some other new obsession.
