Day 32
Oh, day 32. I didn't realize it was that until just now. Too bad I'm not really getting anywhere today... I did a Naked Mind Writing Zen, but it's not really worth publishing, and even though my mind was then naked, I still couldn't come up with anything. My brain is apparently out of glucose. And 32 is such a good number. I hopefully won't waste number #132.
Instead, I'll take a minute to evaluate my progress on this crazy goal of mine.
It's become something of a catharsis for me. I know that I have to write something, anything, everyday, and I usually put it off until right at the end of the day. If I were smart, I'd do it during lunch, and then wouldn't have a worry for the rest of the day. But there is something to knowing that I have at least accomplished one thing every day.
Here's my stats for the month of January:
I missed writing twice, and learned something about planning.
I used a writing prompt three times. (I should probably be more willing to use them, but the ones I get when I google are dumb, and they don't really give me the prompt that I need.)
I wrote six prose pieces. My favorite was the first one, from day 7.
I used the something escape clause only four times. (Actually, that surprised me when I looked it up.)
I blogged on my other personal blog five times.
I had four bichok entries.
I posted four poems.
I cheated and used my geocache logs once.
I posted one book review.
I wrote once on paper. Not much happened in that once on paper, but it got my writing done. Kind of.
And I posted once about the rules. I actually think this makes sense now that I think about it. If I evaluate on the first of each month how I did in the last month, that will give me a sense of progress.
So there you have it. My first month of writing. It does appear that it was all over the board. :) In celebration, I made a Wordle of what my writing looked like in the Month of January.
